This achievement is the result of the “1 Pair = 1 Tree” campaign launched by the brand this year, which involves donating a tree for every pair of sneakers made with recycled materials sold.
Amerika SB, one of the brands under US Brands, has already planted 100 trees to help reforest the city of Córdoba. This initiative stems from the “1 Pair = 1 Tree” campaign, where a tree is donated for each pair of sneakers made with recycled materials sold.
“The initiative arose from a personal need and the desire to give something back to the planet. We’ve found that many people support the project, knowing that by buying a pair of sneakers, they allow us to give back by planting a tree in their country. We realized that if you give people the option, they’re incredibly supportive,” explains Florencia López, one of the brand’s co-founders, along with Gaspar Arnaudo.
So far, 100 trees have been planted in Parque Sarmiento, one of the largest green lungs of Córdoba’s capital. The authorization request for the planting, as well as the selection of locations and tree species, is handled by Forestando Córdoba, a reforestation company that has its own nursery.
“For us, it’s a source of pride to see the trees in our city. It also gives us strength as entrepreneurs to know that everything comes together and that patience and hard work make it possible,” adds Florencia.
The Bëpa TX Lino Reciclada,, the sneaker model that is part of this campaign, is made from leftover materials from previous productions and other recyclable materials available in the market. The textiles, for example, come from yarns that are deconstructed for reuse. The laces are plant-based, and the rubber is derived from car tires that would otherwise be burned or discarded.
“This year, we face the challenge of incorporating more designs following this same sustainable structure. We are confident and eager to continue exploring materials and methods to create a sneaker that’s as eco-friendly as possible,” concludes Florencia.
The Bëpa TX Lino Reciclada sneakers are available at several multi-brand stores across the country and on the website [www.amerikasb.com](http://www.amerikasb.com)
